Singer Songwriter, Tiff Jimber holds nothing back when she plays, smashing out rhythms and dancing on her toes. This is not your average piano girl. Both her diverse jazz and classical training is clearly heard throughout her songs Consistently compared to Sara Bareilles and Ben Folds, her influences include Billy Joel, John Mayer, Nina Simone and Adele.
Tiff grew up in sunny San Diego, and like many other children, Tiff was forced to take piano lessons. Luckily, this hobby quickly grew into a passion. At age 17 Tiff released her first self-produced album of original songs, Never Takes Too Much. It was clear that talent and love for music ran deep and her potential was quickly realized. Upon completion of high school Tiff was accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music where she was rewarded a scholarship and graduated with a dual degree in Songwriting and Music Production/Engineering
After graduation, Tiff moved to Los Angeles where she currently resides in a two-car garage that she shares with one dead cockroach. Tucked away behind a Jack in the Box, with the aroma of seasoned curly fries wafting through the garage, Tiff has used this inspiration to write the song “Garage,” featured on the new album Burning At Both Ends. Tiff is no stranger to the hardships and sacrifices one must make for a dream to come true. As if living in a garage wasn’t rough enough she sleeps in her car while out on the road touring the nation. If you looked up the definition of DIY in the dictionary a picture of Tiff working in her garage would be next to the word. She books all her own tours, self manages, self promotes, handles all marketing and scheduling, all while crafting her songs. Tiff plays over 200 shows a year.
Since moving to Los Angeles Tiff has engineered and assisted on many projects and played in several bands. She has worked with Phil Collins; Blink 182; The Foo Fighters; Queensrÿche to name a few. She also sang on vocal tracks for movies such as, The Grudge, the Robert De Niro movie, Hide and Seek, and the Jennifer Aniston movie Traveling. She has opened for the San Diego Symphony, White Buffalo and Meiko.
Tiff’s most recent album, Burning At Both Ends, released in May 2009 on Cormac Records, is Tiff’s second full-length album. The new album was financed through a fundraising campaign solely organized by Tiff and her loyal fans, with proceeds totaling over $10,000. Each song on the new album is a delicious bite of pop music with intricate, catchy melodies that feature Tiff’s talent and love for playing the piano. This new album introduces listeners to a few quirky instruments: Accordion played by Tiff and Stylophone performed by producer Matt Bobb. Matt produced and co-wrote numerous tracks on the album. Producer Oren Hadar co-wrote and produced the track, “People Always Go.” With the creative talents of the producers and the amazing musicianship of Eli Hludzick (Drums), Jonny Morrow (Bass) and Chris Peterson (Guitar), the new album is a gem amongst piano pop albums. Burning At Both Ends is Tiff’s best work yet and has already won numerous contests and received honorable mention for the songs “City Life” and “Skin Me.”
The Los Angeles Music Awards nominated Tiff's first full-length album Obstacles-2005, AAA Album of the year. Perfeclty-2006 was a four song EP that showed her growth as a songwriter. She was awarded the ASCAP Plus Award 2008, 2007, 2006. Tiff was the one of the most booked solo acts at NACA West 2007, 2008. In 2008 “City Life” received honorable mention from Billboard and placed in the Australian Songwriting Contest.
